The Wicked Big Toddlah Goes to New York by Kevin Hawkes

Remember King Kong?  Now meet the "Wicked Big Toddlah"!

Alfred A Knopf Books for Young Readers sent me a copy of this children's picture book for review (thank you).  This book was published in April, so you can find a copy at your local bookstore now.

This is my first introduction to the Big Toddlah, and he's something else.  It's a good thing he's nice!

When his family takes him to visit the Big Apple, he's all eyes and ears and is having a great time seeing the sites.  However, when he loses his Ma's hand and gets lost, he's just like any other little one.  He cries and hollers and finally climbs to a high place to see if he can see her.  Anyone has had a small child in their life will recognize the frantic hunt for Ma.

Why not share this book with your little one and remind them to hold your hand securely and stay with the family with travelling?  It's a very good message and may save some tears.

Happy reading!
