I like this author's work. He offers an honest look at a single mother raising a young girl with not much money. His stories are realistic, the characters are ordinary and their life isn't perfect either. This story is especially touching.
Midlandia Press and Edelweiss gave me the opportunity to read this book for review (thank you). It will be published on March 19, 2013, so make a note on your TBR list.
Latasha has never really missed her father. He's never been around and her Mom has always been there for her. She even let her keep her dog when money was a bit tight. Latasha loves Ella, even if she only has three legs now. She also has their landlady as a friend and babysitter occasionally, so she never misses her Dad. But when she gets a chance to meet him, she wants to.
Her mother doesn't really want to get involved with him again. She has her reasons, but she won't stand in Latasha's way if she wants to do things with him. Her Dad hasn't changed. He plays music in bands for a living, he travels a lot, and he's not good at keeping promises.
Latasha learns a few more lessons in this story. She's growing up to be quite the young lady. I'll be watching for Mr. Scotto's next book about her. This is a family I've grown to love.
Why not walk along with Latasha and see what she learns this time?
Happy reading.
