And Then I Found You by Patti Callahan Henry

As I began reading this novel, it suddenly dawned on me that it would make a wonderful Lifetime movie.  After all, it's based on a true life story.

St. Martin's Press and Wunderkind PR sent me a copy of this book for review (thank you).  It has been published, so check with your local bookstore for a copy now.

Ms. Henry always expresses a lot of compassion in her characters and makes you immediately empathetic with them.  The story is NOT the story of her family member who faced this same sort of challenge, but it has the echo of truth and a tint of hurt throughout the story, which makes it sound real.

Kate is trying to leave the past behind, but she has real trouble committing herself to a relationship.  She has a big secret from her past that she just doesn't want to share.  Nor is she sure could she can handle belonging to a man and trusting him.  The baggage from her past is in the way.  In desperation, Kate decides to go home and try to settle her ghosts.  Her problem is that many of her ghosts are alive and well and still there...

This is the story of a woman making an attempt to reconcile her life:  who she is, what she did, and whether it was right or wrong.  I found myself hoping she picked the right options this time and that there might be a happily ever after in her future.

Why not give this one a read and see how quickly Ms. Henry draws you in and drags you along to Kate's battles and her new chance at life without baggage?  It's well worth a read.

Happy reading.
