Cold Killing by Luke Delaney

This is a chilling story about a murderer who kills because he likes to and because he is confident he can get away with it.  This author caught my attention in the first few pages and he turns this into a complicated plot with a variety of strange characters.

William Morrow and Edelweiss gave me the opportunity to read and review this book (thank you).  It will be published the 21st of May, so make a note to pick up a copy then.  You won't want to miss this one if you like police procedurals with drama.

The story begins with the death of a male prostitute and it appears to be an act of domestic violence.  But things don't add up like they should; there is no forensic evidence.  Maybe this wasn't a crime of passion.

When another body is found in an abandoned building and it's a young runaway girl, the only common denominator is that, again, there is nothing left behind to identify the killer.

Sean Corrigan is the lead detective.  He was abused by his father as a young boy and he is internally conflicted by his own anger and fear that he will become like his father.  That plays a part in his search for this killer.  The more he searches, the less sleep he has, and his need to understand how and why the killer is choosing his victims makes that anger harder to control.

I thought I knew who the killer was.  I was wrong.  I wonder if you will fall into the same trap I did and follow the trap of misdirection?  I can guarantee you won't be bored.  You also know someone in the cast of characters is the evil one, but which one?  Someone who really and truly is cold...

Happy reading.
