Nobody remembers Charlie's name, not even his Mom. It's like he's invisible.
Mascherato and Net Galley allowed me to read this in ebook form for review (thank you). It was published in December, 2012, so you can grab a copy at your local bookstore now.
Charlie's Dad and Aunt travel a lot and he only sees them about twice a year. They promise to tell him a secret on his next birthday, but they don't show up. He's also developed this strange character following him around and he actually knows his name. Who's he? Charlie's Dad really should have talked to him.
Charlie is a time traveler. The first time it's an accident, but then he meets another traveler and learns more about it. He likes her despite the fact that she has a baby and can only travel forward; he can only travel back in time. He's here to find his father and his aunt, if he survives. He quickly finds out that trying to do no harm is very hard and even accidents affect the future. Once he's changed things, can he change them back?
It's an interesting read with clockwork robots, time travel, and early times in London. There is violence in the story, so make sure your young reader can handle that.

Happy reading!
