Birds of a Feather, A Book of Idioms and Silly Pictures by Vanita Oelschlage

You know those strange sayings we use when talking about people?  Like a bull in a china shop?  Or goosebumps?  How about barking up the wrong tree?  They are all here in this book.

Robin Hegan did the illustrations and they are a hoot!  The birds of a feather have one feather as you can see.  She made a whole hill of nothing but bumps and put a goose in a car driving over it.  It's almost parody and it goes well with the silly sayings.

The source of the text and it's original meaning are also shared in this picture book, so you not only will learn what the saying means but how they started.  I know these sayings mystified me as a child, so I would have loved reading this book.  The illustrations alone make this book worth the price.  Give it a try!
