The Pirate's Bed by Nicola Winstanley

Did you know a pirate's bed holds secrets?  It has the pirate's memories, knows where the treasure is buried, and knows how much his feet stink...

Tundra Books and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published, so you can grab a copy then.

Mr. Matt James has illustrated this book and I know young ones will love it.  It almost resembles children's work.  You can even see up the pirate's nose!  His mouth is open and you can see his teeth as he snores.  What fun.

The pirate is sleeping even when the storm comes on and it reminds of him of rocking in a cradle, so he sleeps on.  The bed has an eye on the storm; it seems awfully rough.  Sure enough, the ship goes down.  Don't worry, all the pirates survive.  The poor bed gets taken away by the sea.

The bed travels a long way over the ocean but it does find another home.  It's been passed down over the years.  Maybe you're the current owner.  Is your child sleeping in a pirate bed and dreaming about treasure?
