THE SOUND OF MURDER: An Ivy Meadows Mystery #2 by Cindy Brown

Ivy has a bad habit of falling into the middle of trouble.  She's going to house sit but when she goes to meet the owner, she goes to the wrong house.  And all she can hear is the sound of a car running in locked garage.  Sure enough, the man in the car is dead.  It seems he committed suicide.  But when Ivy checks, a lot of people have been committed suicide in that over fifty-five community.  What's going on?

Henery Press and Net Galley allowed me to read this book for review (thank you).  It will be published October 6th.

When someone points out that all the houses of the suicide cases have abutted the golf course, she gets even more suspicious.  Especially since they are "death houses" they will sell for a lot less on the market after the tragedy.  Who's buying them up?  Are they suicides?

She really wants to be an actress, but she also wants to be a private investigator.  She's trying to convince her uncle she can be both.  He's not sure but he gives her his case and she's to report to him on what she finds.

As she investigates, she finds things out about her fellow actors and actresses she'd rather not know.  She also has a budding romance with a firefighter.  And someone is setting her up for a fall.  This a good mystery, has some comic touches, and read up fairly fast.  My only disappointment was that the romance is killed before it has a chance to start by the murderer.  I hope the next book gets Ivy back with Jeremy.  They made a good couple.
