The Secret Garden: A Flowers Primer by Jennifer Adams, Alison Oliver (Illustrator)

This is a BabyLit book.  They are based on a classic book but focus on a simple idea.  This book introduces the child to flowers.

Gibbs Smith sent me a copy of this book to review (thank you).  It has been published, so you can find a copy now at your local bookstore.

The artwork is big and daring with lots of color.  The words are few and say something about the flower itself.  The flowers are from all seasons.  It's nicely put together.

If you have flowers in your yard or at the local park, it would be fun to take the book along and find the plants shown in it.  I have a lot of them in my yard but I haven't gotten any crocuses yet.  I might have to rectify that.  Maybe you and your little one ought to plant one, too.
