The Secrets of the Pied Piper 2: The Magician's Key by Matthew Cody

Max made it back but Carter didn't.  If she's going to retrieve her brother, she has to find another way back to Summer Isle.  Can she get the key from the magician?

Max has her elfish housekeeper with her and they are trying to find the magician.  He's hidden, everyone is scared of him and no one will tell her much.  There's a big man following her and he wears a hooded cloak.  She just barely escapes him when she gets on the train.  She doesn't know it but he's not her enemy.  The magician is...

Carter is fighting battles on the Summer Isle, too.  He's been captured by the Pied Piper.  Lucas is trying to defend their home from the rats and ogres.  Max is trying to open a door that doesn't use a key.  There's plenty of action and adventure all the ways around here.

I liked this sequel even better than the first book and I'll be watching for the next book.  Max is back on Summer Isle but she and Carter haven't met up yet.  I'm just hoping the Pied Piper isn't going to hurt Carter.  Poor boy has been through enough...
